I actually like those pairings. Very nice...

Chris Pronger shouldn't be there. He's old, and slow. Plus, he's only been in ONE All-Star Game since the lockout ended. Clearly, it's a sign the game has passed him by.

Get Letang in there, instead.

Letang doesn't elbow enough to replace him and the gap in his teeth aren't wide enough, and you shouldn't be a whiny bitch about what some tards at hfboards say. I thought it was stupid as well, Pronger is a top 5 defenseman in the NHL. He does make the Flyers defense much better, what he can't do is play in goal...For 6 games out of the season, it's all good to see Pronger up against Geno and Sid.

I know you're probably still distraught over Michael's death, but please don't post in this thread. You're not being rational. Chris Pronger is a 35 year old relic. A player that old, with no significant injury history to speak of, can't possibly be of any use to a team trying to do anything more than tank. The only reason he and the rest of the Anaheim Ducks weren't eliminated earlier is because Joe Thornton choked.

I wasn't distraught over MJ's death, didn't know the guy, why the fuck would I feel bad about a guy I didn't know? My grandpa, yeah I am sad about but not distraught.

Are you still distraught over having a shittier goaltending tandem than last year?

Denial's a tough one. I suggest you pour yourself a warm bath, throw in some bubbles, light a few candles, and set History on repeat. Just let the emotions flow, man. Be sure to leave the lap top on the floor, though. You wouldn't want to end up like Michael.

My team:

Nash-Getzlaf-Heatley
Gagne-Crosby-Iginla
Staal-Lecavalier-St.Louis
Morrow-Mike Richards-Doan

Lots of choices for extra. Better players than Gagne, but he is a great complementary player, can play in all situations, and is fast as fuck. Jeff Carter also in the mix.

So many centers.. Thornton, Spezza, Toews, Savard, Stamkos, etc.

Crosby/Getz/Lec should be locks at C. I LOVE that 4th line. Three skilled pitbulls.

Defense:

Pronger-Weber
Phaneuf-Bouwmeester
Niedermayer-Seabrook/Burns

Green is sick, but with so much offense not really needed. Maybe 7th dman to toss out against Latvia or something.

again, lots of choices

Longdongo
Marty
Ward/Fleury

Honestly, some of you are nuts for leaving Green out of the line-up. I think, at the very least, he should be included as the 7th defenseman for Canada. His talents as a power-play quarterback could be the difference between a Gold Medal and a Silver.

My line-up (as of today):

Nash - Crosby - Iginla
Heatley - Lecavalier - Gagne
Perry - Getzlaf - Carter
Doan - Richards - Morrow
13th: Heatley (ugh)

Bouwmeester - Regher
Green - Pronger
Weber - Keith
7th: Phaneuf/Burns

How the hell can you even fuck with that line-up. The checking line is absolutely digusting. Fast, skilled, tough, dirty, and pulverizing. Russia's big three will be shitting themselves at the sight of Canada's checking line.

I like that line-up, people can hate on Regehr as much as they want, he's still one of my favourite defensive defenseman, he's always reliable and rock solid on defense. Green is absolutely fine if he is paired with a guy that can make up for his lack of defensive awareness, I mean I would rather see Regehr with him but Pronger fits as well.

Well, Green is better suited to playing against the opposition's 2nd or 3rd line until he can better understand what to do without the puck in his own end. With Canada's line-up, he has a buffer between himself and Sweden's Zetterberg, Sedin x2, or Russia's Ovechkin, Datsyuk, Malkin.

To be fair, I doubt Russia will even consider putting their big three on one line, unless it's they have the man advantage. It's scary to think that Semin and Kovalchuk aren't even listed, and they alone can make 2/3 of just about any country's 1st line. Either way, Green will have the proper coaching and will be surrounded by the best defensive defensemen that Canada has to offer. That he gets to play in an NHL-sized rink works to his advantage as well.

Also, Regher is very under-rated. I hope that the 2010 Olympics will be his coming out party. I hope Canada (and the rest of the world) realizes how good and nasty Regher is in his own end. He's quite possibly the best in the world in his own end!

What a fucking stacked team.

If Sakic retires, replace him with Staal in the lineup and replace Staal's reserve spot with Carter.
team Canada Heatley sweaters are sure to be a hot item.

Not a big fan of that second line, and I fucking hate Pronger.

Canada scares me less now than in previous years.

The forwards aren't explosive enough. The defense also begs for immediate emergence of younger, fresher stars like Doughty. Brodeur is really bloody old.

Nice depth, but fewer gamebreakers than in the past.

Good for Spezza. He's still a longshot for the team, but he deserves consideration and a late invite is better than no invite at all.

Here's hoping he makes the 'taxi' squad, and beats up Kane, as retribution of his taxi brethren.
