My scoreboard:

Final|1|2|3|T
Oklahoma Postal Workers|2|2|1|5
Balsille's Rim Jobs|1|0|0|1

OKL: Gretzky(2), Kharlamov(1), Kurri (1), Robinson (1)
BAL: Robitaille (1), Messier , (1)

Recap: Another long night for the Rim Jobs and their goalie Dominik Hasek. The Dominator could only do so much and was visibly frustrated with the lack lustre play of the team in front of him. The Great One dominated the first period potting two goals for the Postal Workers. After putting the game out of reach in the second, the Postal Workers got their final goal from Larry Robinson into an empty net as the Rim Jobs tried to tie things up late in the game by pulling Hasek.

Final|1|2|3|T
Saskatoon Coyotes|1|1|1|3
Peterborough Petes|2|0|1|3

SSK: Malone (1), Apps (1), MacInnis (1)
PTB: Clarke (2), Lindros (1)

Recap: The Coyotes and Petes went head to head in one of the best games of the season. Joe Malone tapped in a rebound on an Esposito shot early in the first to give Saskatoon an early lead. However, Bobby Clarke wouldn't be denied on two seperate powerplays to give the Petes a 2-1 lead heading into the 2nd. After a tying goal in the second by Apps, the Coyotes looked to go up for good in the third after a goal by Al MacInnis, but a late goal on a dominating rush by Eric Lindros sent the Peterborough Memorial Centre into a frenzy and sent the patrons do many George Street beverage houses for the remainder of the evening.

Final|1|2|3|T
Kimberly Dynamiters|0|0|1|1
Vancouver Giants|0|0|2|2

KIM: Orr (1)
VAN: Hunter (1), Tikkanen , (1)

Recap: Tretiak must have been into the vodka before this game because he was virtually unstoppable. Despite poor defensive play by Phil Housley, among others, Tretiak stood on his head all night in order to get his team into the playoff race, although early on it looked like it might not be enough. Bobby Orr scored on an incredible rush and all was silent on the scoresheet until midway through the 3rd period when Dale Hunter nailed an unsuspecting Paul Coffey, stole the puck and scored. Less than a minute later, Esa Tikannen scored after the puck went off Charlie Huddy and in. The Vancouver faithful chanted Tretiak's name all night and the Dynamiters could only shrug their shoulders after the game having been stymied all night.

Final|1|2|3|T
Gwinnet Gladiators|2|1|1|4
San Diego Gulls|0|0|1|1

GWI: Beliveau (2) Middleton (1), Clark (1)
SND: Bossy (1)

Recap: The Gulls came out flat after their bye week and the Gladiators were quick to capitalize. After two early goals by Jean Beliveau, San Diego was unable to mount any sort of comeback. Constant pressure all night long was turned away by Martin Brodeur who made 41 saves on 45 shots on the night. Rick Middleton would score a SH goal in the 2nd, and the little used 4th line got a lift when Wendel Clark scored in the third to give his team a 4-0 lead. Glen Hall's shutout hopes were dashed however when Mike Bossy scored a few minutes later on a Powerplay.

Team|1|2|3|T
Oklahoma Postal Workers|2|1|2|5
Balsille's Rim Jobs|1|2|0|3

OPW: Kharlamov (2), Pilote, Barber, Makarov
RIM: Messier, Ovechkin (2)

Recap: Khalamov scored off of two pretty passes from Gretzky before Messier answered back. In the second, Ovechkin gave the RIM Jobs their first lead of the game with a power-play goal, and an even strength breakaway that was converted quite effortlessly. The Postal Workers would have none of it, though, and responded with goals coming from Pilote, Barber, and Makarov. Gretzky would close out the night with three assists.

Team|1|2|3|T
Kimberly Dynamiters|1|1|1|3
Vancouver Giants|1|1|0|2

KMB: Mikita, Orr, Geoffrion
VCX: Shanahan (2)

Recap: The two teams exchanged goals early in the first, neither looking especially sharp. But as the game wore on, Tretiak and Parent found their groove. Shanahan's second goal gave the Giants a one goal lead, with assists going to Yzerman and Housley. The lead wouldn't hold up, though. Orr placed a hard accurate wrist shot between Tretiak's arm and body, and Geoffrion secured the W with a beautiful slapshot from the half boards.

Team|1|2|3|T
Gwinnett Gladiators|1|0|1|2
San Diego Gulls|2|0|0|2

GWN: Bourque, Conacher
SDG: Bossy, Sakic

Recap: Hall and Brodeur looked great from start to finish, but Gilmour was the man of the night. Early in the first, he won a clean faceoff against Sittler to Bourque who cashed in the opportunity for the first goal of the night. Bourque then spent all night hounding Forsberg, eventually causing the fiery Swede to loose his cool, and take a roughing penalty. His brilliant campaign capped off with an assist on the game tying goal when he found Roy Conacher open near the crease.

Team|1|2|3|T
Cape Brenton Oilers|2|1|1|4
Defcon Omegas|0|1|1|2

CPB: Howe, Horton, Abel, Delvecchio
DEF: Hull (2)

Recap: The Oilers handled the Omegas rather handily, despite the two-spot coming from Bobby Hull.

Team|1|2|3|T
Saskatoon Coyotes|0|1|2|3
Peterborough Petes|2|0|2|4

Sask: Esposito, Jagr, MacInnis
Pet: Richard (2), Howe, Alfredsson

The Petes get off to a good start with the Rocket scoring twice in the first 10 minutes. Things get quiet for the next little while as both teams seem tentative at best. Saskatoon gets back into the game late in the second period on the powerplay when Esposito tips home Jagr's shot. The Coyotes are back on the attack after the break and it pays off when Jagr puts Malone's rebound in the back of the net. Saskatoon gets their first lead of the game 5 minutes later when MacInnis one-times Francis' pass over Plante's blocker. But the Petes were not dead. Mark Howe converted a beautiful set up from Lindros on the powerplay to even things up. 2 minutes later, Fedorov intercepted a pass at his own blue line and sent Alfredsson on the breakaway. The Swede made no mistake and lifted the Petes over the Coyotes.

Team|1|2|3|T
Kimberley Dynamiters|2|3|2|7
Vancouver Giants|4|2|2|8

Kim: Orr (3), Dionne (3), St. Louis
Van: Crosby (2), Bure (2), Gartner, Shanahan, Yzerman, Housley

It was the 80's all over again in Vancouver with this wide open affair that saw both starting goalies pulled out before second period was over. And it started early when Crosby undressed Kimberley's defense 15 seconds into the game to give Vancouver a lead they would never surrender. Bure made it 2-0 3 minutes later on a breakaway, but Orr replied on the very next shift when he went end-to-end to score a typical Orr goal. Things calmed down a bit for the next 10 minutes, but Gartner revived it all when he scored on the powerplay. Dionne answered with his first of the game. Crosby closed the first with a spectacular goal, coming out of the corner and putting the puck over Parent's trapper. As the second frame opened, Kimberley signaled clearly they were not out of it with another Dionne goal. But Vancouver wanted to put this one away as soon as possible. Bure one-timed an Yzerman pass past Parent, followed shortly after with a very similar play from Yzerman to Shanahan. That was it for Parent who was replaced by Holecek. This change certainly woke the Dynamiters who went on to score twice before the second was over. Dionne completed his hat trick when he converted on a 2-on-1 with Simmer. Marty St. Louis then slipped behind Vancouver's defense, took a Orr pass and fooled Tretiak out of the game. Brooks had seen enough and Belfour was sent in. Stevie Y intended to put this one away when he crashed the net early in the third and picked up a garbage goal. Orr replied on the powerplay off a Sologubov pass. Vancouver scored a similar goal shortly thereafter when Housley converted a Zubov assist. Boucher took his goalie out of the game with 90 seconds left but his team could only get one goal with Orr slipping behind the defense.

Team|1|2|3|T
Gwinnett Gladiators|0|0|1|1
San Diego Gulls|0|0|2|2

Gwi: Beliveau
SD: Bossy, Harvey

In contrast with the previous game, this one was a goalie's affair. Brodeur and Hall exchanged spectacular saves after spectacular saves throughout the game and the only goals came with less than 10 minutes to play despite numerous powerplay chances for both sides. Finally, San Diego's sepcial teams opened the score when Bossy completed a tic-tac-toe orchestrated by Trottier and Bucyk. Beliveau sent the game back to square one when he powered his way through the Gulls' defense, sending a pass to Neely who returned the favour for Gros Bill to tip an easy one in. The Gulls were able to establish their passing in Gwinnett's zone late in the game and it paid off when Harvey's wrister from the blue line deflected off Carlyle's stick and fooled Hall.

Team|1|2|3|T
Cape Breton Oilers|2|1|2|5
Defcon Omegas|1|1|0|2

CB: Delvecchio, Richard, Potvin, Morenz, Gillies
Def: Hull, Lafontaine

The Oilers got off to a great start but couldn't muster a goal before the 12 minutes mark. Delvecchio corrected the situation with a strong grinding effort, getting the puck to the front of the net and fooling Durnan with a soft shot. Hull answered 5 minutes later when he selected to keep the puck on a 2-on-1 and slapped it past Dryden. Richard restored the Capers' lead with 90 seconds left, converting on a Park pass. Potvin scored on the powerplay early in the second, intercepting a clearing attempt and sending a wrister top right. The Omegas also used special teams to get back to within a goal when Lafontaine completed a dazzling passing play between Fetisov and Statsny. But when the third rolled around, it was apparent that Defcon was tiring out. Morenz took advantage of a bad change to beat Durnan on a breakaway. Gillies put the final nail in the coffin with an empty netter.

I just wanted to see my name as the last poster in all seven forums at the same time.
