This is just a fun little exercise that'll be good for a laugh a couple years from now. I want an honest evaluation of our prospects. If you haven't seen them play, that's fine. Just put your gut feeling down with a little asterisk next to it. Also, don't fuck around with numbers or letters. This isn't grade school. (Player comparisons acceptable.)

Rob Bellamy - probably won't sniff the NHL.
David Laliberte - same.
Chris Zarb - is he even our property anymore?
Gino Pisellini - one of hundreds of OHL tough guys that won't amount to shit.
Ladislav Scurko - murderer.
Steve Downie - the media would make you think he was a murderer, will still become a solid third liner with second liner hands.
Oskars Bartulis - might sniff a call-up every now and then...next Bobby Orr if you listen to BCF16.
Jeremy Duchesne - meh.
Matt Clackson - balls-out kid, probably won't see the NHL.
Claude Giroux - his skills give me a boner, his hype is getting out of control.
Andreas Nodl - the next Vanek is more like the next who fucking cares.
Mike Ratchuk - could be the next Mike Green, could be the next me (yes, my name is also Mike if you guys don't remember).
Denis Bodrov - sounds like there's potential here, but I have no confidence he'll come over.
Jonathan Matsumoto - would like to see what he can do with the big club.
Joonas Lehtivuori - never seen him play, could be good based on what I've read.
Mike Teslak - he's a 66 in NHL 09, that's about all I know.
James Van Riemsdyk - bust written all over him, hoping to be proven wrong.
Kevin Marshall - very excited about this kid, hope he pans out.
Garrett Klotz - fuck you, Paul Holmgren...a third rounder? really? fuck you.
Mario Kempe - speed and fearlessness could land him a role-playing job in the NHL.
Jon Kalinski - quality 4th liner, will get some call-ups this year.
Patrick Maroon - interesting case...if his skating improves I'd like to see what he can do at the NHL level...great hands.
Brad Phillips - I seriously had to google him...will not amount to shit.
Luca Sbisa - Pronger will bring us a Cup, so my answer is "Luca who?"...will be very good though.
Marc-Andre Bourdon - if he could skate, I'd be excited.
Jacob DeSerres - meh.
Ryan Dingle - hilarious name, might sniff a call-up this year.
Patrik Hersley - first guy I trade in NHL 09, simply because I don't know who he is and his name is awkward to me.
Zac Rinaldo - the next Hollweg...do not like.
Joacim Eriksson - AHL starter.
Adam Morrison - we seriously drafted a goalie who played 13 games?
Simon Bertilsson - no opinion yet.
Nicola Riopel - probably another wasted pick on a goalie trying to find that diamond in the rough.
Dave Labrecque - don't care.
Eric Wellwood - wasted pick, Homer will trade a 2nd rounder for Kyle and yet another brothers experiment will fail in Philadelphia (see Timonen, Jussi).
Oliver Lauridsen - he's big, but I haven't seen him play.

Matt Clackson - nice AHL guy
Claude Giroux - the hype he gets on HF is ridiculous, but he'll be great

Re: Zarb

Holmgren just signed him. Kind of a weird process because he wasn't good enough for the Phantoms the first time around, but after a couple seasons things look a little better from the GMs POV.

Rob Bellamy - 4th-liner at best
David Laliberte - AHL
Chris Zarb - AHL
Gino Pisellini - ECHL
Ladislav Scurko - prison
Steve Downie - quality 3rd-liner
Oskars Bartulis - AHL
Jeremy Duchesne - WTF?
Matt Clackson - 4th-liner at best
Claude Giroux - 1st-line fixture
Andreas Nodl - AHL
Mike Ratchuk - AHL
Denis Bodrov - a Russian-born Flyers prospect... when has that ever worked?
Jonathan Matsumoto - AHL
Joonas Lehtivuori - Europe
Mike Teslak - NCAA goaltender + Flyers = Fail
James Van Riemsdyk - 1st-line complimentary forward
Kevin Marshall - 5/6-pairing defenseman
Garrett Klotz - absolutely worthless
Mario Kempe - Europe
Jon Kalinski - quality plug
Patrick Maroon - 2nd-line complimentary forward
Brad Phillips - NCAA goaltender + Flyers = Fail
Luca Sbisa - potential no.2, most likely 3/4-pairing defenseman
Marc-Andre Bourdon - 3/4-pairing defenseman for some other club
Jacob DeSerres - ECHL
Ryan Dingle - tweener
Patrik Hersley - NA -> Europe
Zac Rinaldo - ECHL
Joacim Eriksson - back-up
Adam Morrison - AHL
Simon Bertilsson - Europe -> NA -> Europe
Nicola Riopel - back-up
Dave Labrecque - quality plug
Eric Wellwood - AHL
Oliver Lauridsen - depth defenseman

I'll just leave it to guys I have an opinion of. If they're not on here, I don't know anything about them.

Steve Downie - will amount to nothing, but that doesn't excuse management from fucking him over multiple times.

Matt Clackson - apparently he can fight. I like that. Welcome to the world of being a 4th line tweener.

Claude Giroux - very much looking forward to what he brings this year. Could be a very very good player or trade fodder.

James Van Riemsdyk - gut feeling he'll stink, would have no objections to trading him for someone that's actually good.

Luca Sbisa - Could be good, could be the next in a long line of defensemen the Flyers have dealt away and not regretted.

Ryan Dingle - Seem him play. AHL fodder.

Patrik Hersley - Seen him play. ECHL fodder.

Adam Morrison - I thought he played for the Memphis Grizzlies.

I'm not a flyers but i've been intrigued by JVR's development since he was drafted. Im just curious to know why most of you predict a bust in this thread?

He played great at the WJC posting:
2008 United States WJC 6 5 6 11
2009 United States WJC 6 6 4 10

and similar stats to Jonathan Toews in college

Toews:
2005–06 University of North Dakota NCAA 42 22 17 39
2006–07 University of North Dakota NCAA 34 18 28 46

JVR:
2007–08 U. of New Hampshire HE 31 11 23 34
2008–09 U. of New Hampshire HE 36 17 23 40

Only time will tell.

Rob Bellamy - AHL
David Laliberte - AHL
Chris Zarb - AHL
Gino Pisellini - AHL
Ladislav Scurko - Like RP said, in prison.
Steve Downie - 3rd or 4th line agitator that can step in a scoring line as a complimentary role player. I would have liked to keep him, but he wasn't going anywhere with Stevens.
Oskars Bartulis - Reserve D, but not with the Flyers.
Jeremy Duchesne - AHL starter
Matt Clackson - Reserve winger
Claude Giroux - 70ish point 1st liner who may sniff a PPG pace a few times in his career.
Andreas Nodl - I don't think his offense will ever translate, but he can skate an play defense. With some more seasoning I think he can be a third liner.
Mike Ratchuk - AHL All-star
Denis Bodrov - KHL forever
Jonathan Matsumoto - 4th liner who can PK
Joonas Lehtivuori - No idea. I hear he's decent, but I'm not expecting anything.
Mike Teslak - AHL backup
James Van Riemsdyk - I don't get the hate for him. Maybe it's because of the WJCs, but I thought he played well despite (set up some great plays that Wilson couldn't bury in the last couple games). I think he'll be a lower-level 1st line winger like Milan Michalek... maybe better.
Kevin Marshall - I don't think he'll bring much offense, but he'll be a great, physical defenseman. He'll probably be on the bottom pairing for most of his career.
Garrett Klotz - ugh
Mario Kempe - If he plays in North America throughout his career, he'll probably be a good AHL player.
Jon Kalinski - Great 4th line energy guy.
Patrick Maroon - I think he'll be a 40-50 point guy in the NHL in his prime. I really want to see if the Flyers can utilize his big body presence on the second PP unit, even as early as next season.
Brad Phillips - No idea
Luca Sbisa - Full-package, #2 or 3 defenseman.
Marc-Andre Bourdon - Two-way #4 defenseman, but he'll need a lot of time in the minors.
Jacob DeSerres - Looks like a bad pick already. Probably an AHLer.
Ryan Dingle - I want to hear that name on NHL broadcasts, but I never will.
Patrik Hersley - Europe.
Zac Rinaldo - AHL role player
Joacim Eriksson - He may develop into an NHL backup, but that's a long ways away.
Adam Morrison - AHL
Simon Bertilsson - I don't know a whole lot about him, but he looks good. Maybe he'll develop into an NHLer, but I want to wait at least a year until I form a real opinion about him.
Nicola Riopel - Kind of a wild card. I like the pick now, but as with Bertilsson, I'm going to wait a bit.
Dave Labrecque - Same
Eric Wellwood - Same, but if he's anything like his brother, God help us.
Oliver Lauridsen - I don't know anything about him but OH MAN 6'6 WHAT A BEAST!!! He'll probably suck, but I'll keep an open mind.
