- Gretzky is obviously a difference maker that the Islanders can't match. Despite that, I think the first lines are close - Taylor has a huge edge on Anderson talent wise and Cook is better than Kurri, and our first line is better in it's own zone.

- Carey Price gets some bonus points for chemistry - the Oilers first line and the Islanders second line are both reunited.

- I always though George Armstrong was a RW. It's kind of funny how you have two of the classiest leaders to play the game on a line with one of the biggest douchebags.

- Glenn Hall gives Carey Price an edge in net - I have Hall third all time and Dryden sixth.

- Defense stands out as a difference on the top pairings. You have two of the top-7 of all time going up against a couple guys who are top-25 to 30. Salming is the best player outside of each top pairing but I'd say the groups are fairly even.

- If I were Carey Price, I'd play Salming and Leetch together - Salming was a rock in his own zone and would let Leetch work his offensive magic while the way you have it now you have two guys without significant offensive upside on your second pairing and two offensive puck movers on your second pairing.

- The biggest edge for my team, I think, is the abundance of two-way forwards. Pavelich - Kennedy - Provost is one of the better defensive lines in the draft, Dillon was known for being one of the best back checkers of his era while still bringing offensive upside, Thompson and Boucher were both known for being very responsible defensive forwards, Milt Schmidt is basically a slightly lesser Bryan Trottier clone, and Taylor - Mikita - Cook is a line of two way players.
